It's easier to configure with KNetworkmanager was the advise. Doing so I
see:
AR5001 Wireless Network Adapter
    App name: wlan0
    Automatic start at startup
    IP address with DHCP

Dynamic IP address DHCP both versions 4 and 6
ESSID: SpeedTouch......
verification modus WPA-PSK (WPA version 1 or 2)
Key input type
Passwordway
Encryption code ..........
