IMHO the problem is that the KDE4 synaptiks system setting thinks that
the touchpad of the T410s support only one finger. Furthermore, it seems
to not support palm detection configuration.
If I use xinput to set the correct properties, everything works fine[0].
Thus, I think that X has no problem and synaptiks just does not fully
detect the capabilities of the TouchPad and/or has no support for palm
detection.
Hmm. Synaptiks bugs are tracked on bitbucket. I see there's already a bug
report about two finger issues, maybe you can comment on that, or create a
new report if it's a different issue:
