Sorry for the offtopic here (but it might be of interest for others). What does "AS" mean in this context?
Most probably: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autonomous_system_%28Internet%29
Yes, I guessed that too, but I'm not sure and I remembered mirrorbrain working differently from Peter's presentation on Fosdem 09 ;)
"Choosing a suitable mirror for a users request is the key, and MirrorBrain uses geolocation and global routing data to make a sensible choice, and achieve load-balancing for the mirrors at the same time." This quote is from the start page of http://mirrorbrain.org/ No, I've not checked the source code. But from the quoted sentence - in particular the "global routing data" part - and the discussions with Peter in the past - three years ago maybe (?) - I still believe parts of the brain power is driven with the help of the autonomous system (AS) routing infrastructure. But only the code and Peter will know for sure. Lars -- Lars Müller [ˈlaː(r)z ˈmʏlɐ] Samba Team SUSE Linux, Maxfeldstraße 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany
