The right fix would be to file a bug against ModemManager, upstream,
preferrably, I guess:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=NetworkManager
(ModemManager component)
I don't know if it's safe to remove ModemManager (NM might just rely on
it being there)

Hi:
I have an USB device, which is not a modem that uses the cdc_acm kernel
driver, yet modem-manager tries to use the device, and just fills the logs
modem-manager: data_available (ttyACM0): response buffer filled before
repsonse received.
and attempt to load its plugins as well.
modem-manager: (ttyACM0) opening serial device...
modem-manager: (ttyACM0): probe requested by plugin 'Generic'
I wasnt able to find anyway to disable it, removing package ModemManager
also removes the _complete_ Networkmanager stack.
