Are you sure that intel_agp has been loaded before the radeon drm driver?
As much as I would like to claim "of course, because I would never make such a stupid mistake!!1!", I can't, simply because I'm not totally sure. Will test on next reboot, whenever this machine crashes (wich is a very rare occurence lately) or a new kernel turns up for FACTORY (even more rare, it seems ;)
I still hope that the abysmal 2D performance of radeon with RV350 will get a bit better with newer kernel drivers etc...
2D acceleration is still handled in user space. Only the functions which send the commands down to the engine are in the kernel.
I feared that you would say that... so it's probably time to ditch this machine and buy one with a recent intel chipset (I have another one with intel, but that's i855, and it only has 1024x768 on a 15" display) :-( Have fun, seife -- Stefan Seyfried "Mit Außerirdischen, die nicht weiter gekommen sind als Microsoft und Apple, will ich persönlich nichts zu tun haben." -- Prof. Harald Lesch -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
