AppArmor is active?
No.
I am going to switch to the default kernel and see if that helps.
If it works with the default flavour it's very likely bug 544181.
There are two ethernet controllers on the machine. 00:11.0 Bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP55 Ethernet (rev a3) Subsystem: nVidia Corporation Device c73e Kernel driver in use: forcedeth 00:12.0 Bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP55 Ethernet (rev a3) Subsystem: nVidia Corporation Device c73e Kernel driver in use: forcedeth
Do you have to use the Nvidia closed source X11 driver on the system too?
Yes, I like eye candy.
If it's not bnc#544181 I suggest to test if the same happens in runlevel 3 or any other operational mode while not using the Nvidia binary only blob.
BTW people might blame you that this list is for factory issues only.
Ooops, my own oops goes along with the kernel oops, picked the wrong list from the address book.
I'm quite sure it's your intention to test this next with a kernel and X11 from factory. ;)
