You need kernel-flavor-devel package, ie kernel-desktop-devel

kernel-default-devel installs the full kernel sources as a dependencie...

So I do have to install them?

A "kernel" module (nvidia.ko) needs to be built, so the kernel source is
required and configured with "make cloneconfig && make prepare", then
"sh NV*.run". This has to be done in runlevel 3, i.e X not running.

The idea of having "kernel-flavor-devel" is not needing the "huge" kernel source package.
