# zypper in wine
System management is locked by the application with pid 16920
(/usr/sbin/packagekitd).
Close this application before trying again.
OK on another box where packagekitd isn't running.
# kill -9 16920

Or just wait for 10 seconds and you're good to go. No need to kill
anything. Scott Reeves mentioned that he might try to lower the value
that packagekitd holds the lock, but it needs to be tested and probably
wont end up in 11.2. Also, as mentioned, PackageKit might actually have
been doing work at this point (such as checking for updates etc), in
which case you should have had an icon in your notification area.

Cheers,

It was about half an hour between tries. I did get the popup that asked
for an update server to be configured, but ignored that.

Sid.
