OK, I shall check it next reboot. I haven't looked at the BIOS in months and can't see why it would have changed. Regards Sid. I lied, it was on in the BIOS, disabling it cured the problem, but it looks like the old problem which if you had a floppy drive installed, you needed to insert a non-bootable formatted floppy to stop this happening. Going back 2 or 3 years, this email address used to be reported as SPAM on the kernel mailing list by the new filter they installed. As my ISP reports a problem nationwide which doesn't allow me to use he alternate email address, I used this one hoping it will let my mail through. Regards Sid.
