Thanks for the tip, the stage where the installer fails is at the end of 
"system analysis", during the "initialise package manager" stage. The specific 
task at the time the installer fails is "Building repository 'openSUSE 11.2-0' 
cache".

I've opened this as: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=533131 and 
attached the y2log
