You would not need a "proper" xorg.conf, if the vboxvideo would detect the
current resolution. This is what Bug #525243 is about. Known since 3 weeks

I can't resize the display of a Gnome guest in VirtualBox. I'm stucktry as root in guest : sax2 -m 0=vboxvideo

settings, does someone know of a way to adjust this?
Jon
are you using live cd ? if yes which build ?
You also need to install the "guest additions" for the higher res
screens AFAIK.
"guest additions", xorg modules for high res (and other features) are in
xorg-x11-driver-virtualbox-ose and this package is already on live CD by
default,
you only need to have proper xorg.conf, which you could handle by "sax2
-m 0=vboxvideo"
You would not need a "proper" xorg.conf, if the vboxvideo would detect the
