Couldn't it be integrated in OBS or osc?
Yes, it could be integrated in osc. And actually, osc gnome has a subcommand "osc gnome todo" that lists packages needing version updates.
It should be fairly trivial to add Marcus' data there.
Yep, we really need to combine yours and Marcus' efforts to create a simple but powerfull "osc todo" command which will list all my packages (impossible atm :-/) together with their OBS and upstream versions.
Okay, I took a few minutes tonight and the todo command is now useful for more than just a few projects: vuntz@lyon ~/>osc gnome todo --project=openSUSE:Factory | head Package | openSUSE:Factory | Upstream --------------------------------+----------------------+--------------------- BitTorrent | 4.0.4 | 6.1.2 GraphicsMagick | 1.2.5 | 1.3.6 Modules | 3.1.6 | 3.2.6 MozillaThunderbird | 0.95.99 | 2.0.0.22 PackageKit | 0.5.0 (s) | 0.5.1 (s) accerciser | 1.7.4 (s) | 1.7.90 (s) alsa-tools | 1.0.20 | 1.0.20.git20090702 amavisd-new | 2.6.2 | 2.6.4 vuntz@lyon ~/>osc gnome todo --project=openSUSE:Factory | wc -l 336 If you use the command on a devel project, you get useful info about oS:F and the devel project. Eg: vuntz@lyon ~/> osc gnome todo --project=Base:System | head Package | openSUSE:Factory | Base:System | Upstream ----------------+------------------+------------------+----------------- autoconf | 2.63 | 2.63 | 2.64 ed | 0.2 | 0.2 | 1.4-pre1 elilo | 3.8 | 3.8 | 3.10 espeak | 1.39 | ?? | 1.40 findutils | 4.4.0 | 4.4.0 | 4.5.3 gpm | 1.20.1 | 1.20.1 | 1.99.7 grub | 0.97 | 0.97 | 1.96 iotop | 0.2.1 | 0.2.1 | 0.3.1 Note that you can't use magic commands like "osc gnome update" for most packages; we'd need more information like the url of the upstream tarball. I should probably cook up some web page so that people can fill the information we need to know this kind of stuff. Next step is indeed what you're suggesting: listing the packages you're interested in. It's becoming urgent for my own use too ;-) Vincent PS: I'll rename "osc gnome" soon. Still looking for a good name; the best options I've heard so far are "collab" and "easy". Suggestions welcome. -- Les gens heureux ne sont pas pressés. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
