Try if changing the document folder path in systemsettings -> About me helps

xterm opens in ~/Documents
but I do not know why. I haven't purposefully made that *specific*
configuration.
konsole opens in ~/
Documents pathname does not exist in /etc/bash.bashrc, /etc/profile or
/etc/bash.bashrc.local or ~/.bashrc or ~/.profile
???
It is somewhat agrivating and *is* easily correctible but that
shouldn't be necessary....
