Killing plasma-desktop and restarting it alleviated this condition :^)
Patrick, Thanks. I needed to kill and restart plasma to get the pager app to work properly when compiz is running. I hadn't looked in to how to do it yet and was a bit apprehensive about just killing the plasma PID (I don't know if that would also force a restart). But, it seems we are not alone in our need to kill and restart plasma. Googling it I stumbled across a 3 line script that is definitely cleaner than the "kill PID" I thought about. I just threw this in a script in ~/bin and it seems to work fine: #!/bin/bash kbuildsycoca4 kquitapp plasma-desktop kstart plasma-desktop & -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
