Same problem on factory with 2.1.4 and 2.2.0 on 11.2 Alpha0.
Running VirtualBox as root on any box, it gets stuck at
"futex(0x69bbcc, FUTEX_WAIT_PRIVATE, 1, NULL" as seen with "strace -s
256 -f VirtualBox".

If I "ssh -X" in as root from another box, VirtualBox works fine, but
locally as root on either box, doesn't work - works fine as user.
Bug #487060 submitted 2009-03-19 19:20 MDT, but no response so far. I
have seen the same problem with qjackctl which also runs OK as user.
Some stuff just won't run as root because of the FUTEX_WAIT_PRIVATE problem.
