It's been OVER 5 weeks now, and we can't update our beloved OpenOffice,
because the packager can't seem to get the 5 "extension" packages over
their dependency issues!! Can we expect that to happen in the near
future, or do we have to wait for 11.2?

Urgh, I am sorry but I wasn't ware about these problems. Where do see
them? In factory? Have you reported it in bugzilla? Have you reported it
anywhere at all?

Yes, and others on the opensuse list have also noted it. Even from a
clean, fresh, on a new 'puter shipped with Vista and replaced with 11.1
w/KDE 4.1 and updated using FACTORY for updating KDE, it happens "right
out of the box" so to speak. The problem has to do withe the 5
"extension" OO packages. I've tried to nudge someone, NICELY, to get it
fixed, since it's obvious that it broken, for over 5 weeks!

Frank, could you please provide the URLs of the software repositories that
you
use for the update? I am still not sure where the extensions are missing.

As I said, I knew that they were missing in the OpenOffice.org:STABLE
project.
The installation source for openSUSE-11.1 is
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/OpenOffice.org://STABLE/openSUSE_11.1/
They will appear there together with OOo-3.1.

http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/OpenOffice.org:/STABLE/openSUSE_11.1/
is what I'm using. And, it's Fred, not Frank. ;)

You are still talking about Factory but the packages with extensions are
there, see http://download.opensuse.org/factory/repo/oss/suse/x86_64/
This is why I am mixed.
"Factory" as in KDE4.
