You are mixing up effort and work (the task itself).
1. It's (maybe) less EFFORT for the developer than for the user.
2. It's not less WORK for the developer. Its more work than he had
before.
And remember decentralising work, by pushing it out as far as possible
to the leaves, tends to scale better.
For example, some bug I notice, may be trivial for Linus or Aaron
Seigo to solve, but if those guys are busy doing something else, then
scheduling them to fix it, would not be the greatest decision.
