Hi,
My touchpad is too sensitive on openSUSE 11.1 RC 1. I have
played with

are you using the synaptics driver?
Yes, I am using the synaptics driver.
Section "InputDevice"
Driver "synaptics"
Identifier "Mouse[1]"
Option "AccelFactor" "0.1"
EndSection
Section "InputDevice"
Driver "synaptics"
Identifier "Mouse[3]"
Option "AccelFactor" "0.1"
Option "FingerHigh" "17"
Option "FingerLow" "14"
EndSection
play a little with "AccelFactor", "FingerHigh", "FingerLow" there is
a ksynaptics too.
OK. I will. Thanks :)
But why do you have two tocuhpad sections in Xorg.conf? Was this
generated by Sax2?
Yes, it was generated by SaX2.
Then file a bug, two tochpads do not seem right ...
Done.

Hi all.
is it possible to tune synaptics acceleration from gui (yast\sax) ?
or is there are plans for accessing that option from gui?
it is rather wanted option for normal notebook users, cuz global mouse
sensitivity needs to be adjusted each time you want to switch from
touchpad to external mouse.

Stefan Dirsch suggested me to experiment with synclient (bug #457298,
fixed). You don't have to restart the X Window System since synclient
changes the settings on-the-fly. Quite useful. Try changing MinSpeed,
MaxSpeed and/or AccelFactor. Don't forget to make the changes permanent
by editing Xorg.conf

p.s. this message was sent to the list once? or twice? excuse me for
latter, if so.
It's ok. You sent one message to my email address and another to the
mailing list.
I think "sax2" may not put all the fields in "/etc/X11/xorg.conf" that
the Synaptics tuning utilities need. I'll test that out on my laptop,
but meanwhile, is there a bug to that effect already?
By Synaptics tuning utilities, you mean synclient? I didn't have to change
anything on my xorg.conf in order to use it.
