The actual test of this logic (the "N" test) will be whether the sales
number
for 11.1 look like the first part of a capital 'N' over the life of the release
or whether that look the the top of a small 'n' over the release life. If 11.1
goes out in its current shape, unfortunately, I think the first half N will
adequately reflect the must have orders pouring in on day 1+2 but then a steep
decline over the remainder of its life. I hope that all of the compiz bugs have
been handled. I think spinning a totally black CUBE on the screen is a great
way to spend your afternoon. It actually takes a little tenacity to get
screenshots of the black darling. But, as it always does, the gee whiz wears
off and then you stuck with just another major marketing backlash and
virtually no compiz to offer -- At least we will have front row seats to the
event. I'm praying that all of the problems from 11.0 will now be a thing of
the past, but after hearing we are pressing DVD's with known bugs in them, that
moderates against seeing the buggie 11.0 problems being gone.

You may wonder why you haven't heared from me - but I'm stil
alive. The status of 11.1 is pretty short: it's cursed.
Not to mention a broken Compiz on many systems :(
