Using RC1 i'v succeeded in using a 3G usb card from Huawei (E220) using
Networkmanager and KDE.

The process wasn't plain plug and play though. Steps follows.

Changed the behaviour of the USB dongle to NOT ask the pin code.
Networkmanager have a text box where you can insert the pin for gsm card but
didn't worked.

Estabilished the connection trough wvdial just to get up a serial connection
on ttyUSB0. Networkmanager recognised it only at this point and i set up it
after this point using networkmanager.

Dropped the wvdial connection

Configured the ttyUSB0 connection via Networkmanager. At this point the
connection succeeded but nameservers wheren't set so i had to modify
MODIFY_RESOLV_CONF_STATIC_DNS to get it resolving names.

The connection now works flawlessly.

I hope it can help anyone working on this.
