If it is word about Folder View widget, it is there to show useful folder on 
your workspace desktop and keep them there all the time. You can change size, 
as with any other widget, but it is not classic window, so there is no 
minimize. 

So far it is lesser intrusive replacement for file manager window that is open 
most of the time to some directory in your file system.
