Developers, Here are a few more issues discovered with kate: Configure shortcuts is missing some of the normal options. In the shortcuts list there is no switch to command-line available to set. However, the command line shortcut is set to 'F7' by default. The problem with it missing from the list appears when I reassign show konsole as 'F7', I then have no way to go reassign the switch to command line shortcut as 'shift+F7' Further, when setting shortcuts in kate, the window for assigning the shortcut is cut-off at the bottom and then doesn't go away after your done. See: http://www.3111skyline.com/download/openSUSE_11.1/kate-shortcut-dialog.jpg Running kate from an xterm command line yields the following errors: kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/bin/knotify4 kate(18887): Couldn't start knotify from knotify4.desktop: "KDEInit could not launch '/usr/bin/knotify4'." kate(18887)/kdeui (KAction) KActionCollection::setComponentData: this does not work on a KActionCollection containing actions! kate(18887)/kdeui (KAction) KActionCollection::setComponentData: this does not work on a KActionCollection containing actions! kate(18887)/kdeui (KAction) KActionCollection::setComponentData: this does not work on a KActionCollection containing actions! kate(18887)/kdeui (KAction) KActionCollection::setComponentData: this does not work on a KActionCollection containing actions! These are just a few discovered from initially working with kate to configure kate. Currently kate is running and is usable, the missing shortcuts, the shortcut set window problem and lack of kate snippets are very noticeable however. -- David C.
