With the same kernel:

kernel-default-base-2.6.27.5-1.1
kernel-default-2.6.27.5-1.1
kernel-default-extra-2.6.27.5-1.1
kernel-source-2.6.27.5-1.1

and nvidia Geforce fx 5200, the beta driver:
NVIDIA-Linux-x86-173.14.15
works for me.
