If you ask me? Tried them both.. Because the yast-network-module doesn't save the config, nor automatic, nor manual, nm cann't find the wave, the wireless-card configuration is not present..
I can confirm this in b4. Traditional ifup will not recognize nor setup a wireless card. It also doesn't ask for any wireless config info, (SSID, type of security). Nor does it save any manual setup info. Every time I go back into network card setup the wireless card is gone.
Then please report a bug and add the YaST log files,
Andreas
