Sorry, Alt+Ctrl+F1

this changes nothing...
If you mean my typo Alt+F1 versus Alt+Ctrl+F1 it makes a _big_ difference here. Alt+F1 in openSUSE KDE is the same as clicking on the Lizard. Alt+Ctrl+F1 takes you to the command line (first virtual console). There you can log in as root and give the commands. If you change the hostname with YaST in the graphical environment you will see the old one in the Konsole (graphical) as long as you don't stop the graphical environment with init 3. This is not a bug or any other misfunction. When you then are in runlevel 3 and then command init 5 you start the graphical environment again. If you still then have the old hostname there's something wrong. If this is a bug or a mistake in changing the hostname, I don't know. The way you change it with YaST is: YaST > Network Devices > Network Settings There you untic "Change Hostname via DHCP" Then you change the hostname manually. After this, init 3 and then init 5 as root in command line. Now the new hostname should be there. -- Vahis -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
