[opensuse-factory] can't nfs mount

I know I just had a solution to this lately but can find no evidence of
either the question or any response, and Google doesn't seem to find anything
on point. :-(

Here's the response from trying to mount fstab entries that have always
worked before today's updates:

mount.nfs: rpc.statd is not running but is required for remote locking.
mount.nfs: Either use '-o nolock' to keep locks local, or start statd.

Running rpc.statd from shell prompt returns nothing and has no effect on
mount attempts. Bash can't find statd. Neither rpc.statd nor statd exist in
/etc/init.d. /usr/sbin/rpc.statd is 755 47424 29 Sept. How do I make nfs
mounts work again?
