Ahh - this manufacturer who did set nice setuid-root bits
on various programs with his driver install stuff
to make it "just work".

Again an example how bad a "Linux support" on a hardware box
might be in the end for the poor average user who does not
have the knowledge to find out which driver is good and
which driver is bad.

But - see my other mail - it seems there is nothing what
Linux distributors can do (except to try to inform the users)
because what a manufacturer actually does is out of our control.
