And then we should think about how to have those packages tested

openSUSE distro releases happen (or, rather, when they're freezed).
Following the alpha/beta/RC cycles of Factory and issue the same calls
for testing could be an option.

I am for this option for this reason: After the first beta, Factory is
not a moving target anymore (at least, it starts to slow down ;)),
therefore it's a good idea to reduce the amount of changes to the
Contrib repo a short while after that. Therefore, both Factory and
Contrib will be testable by masses at about the time. The remaining
question is how to test during the alpha phase of Factory, when many
packages might not even compile due to the amount of changes in Factory.
Build Factory:Contrib also against the latest release openSUSE? Leave it
up to the individual package maintainers to build their packages in
their small projects, like many Factory maintainers do already and wait
with testing the whole Contrib repo after the first beta? Try both
(building for the latest stable and encouraging maintainers to find
additional testers via smaller projects)?
