If you consider the issue more carefully, you'll see that there are lots
of users with less-than-optimal internet connectivity. There are people
that have to pay for bandwidth. It may not be apparent to you, but even
downloading a>100 MB openoffice package can be a weeks-long adventure
in places/countries different than yours.
And think of those users that we *could* have if we could improve the
usability of our products in those conditions.

And I don't think we should optimize our setup to the conditions you mention.
If tweaks are possible ot improve it, fine. But optimizing for a small
fraction of our users (and that's what Cristian's harsh words really mean :)
sounds plain wrong.
I want to stay-internet independent. Only having everything offline allow me to.
