Topics:

 (1) Python-xml dependency split off of inkscape

 Sbrabec wants to create script which will split off inkscape package on
depending and non depending subpackages on python-xml. Python-xml is not
included on the LiveCD thus inkscape lacks functionality.

 (2) Lzma compression for man pages

 Prusnak suggested to compress man pages with lzma algorithm to save
more space on the user's disk. We made some investigation and result is
not so profitable: only 2% of disk space allocated to man pages.

 (3) Package puppet available in Build Service

 Anicka put the puppet package into Build Service repo
home:anicka:puppet. You can test it.

 (4) The improvements in the Scout

 Mvyskocil works on various features and improvements in scout code. The
scout currently has a python index files and a module. The code was
rewritten to produce more flexibility, because the experimental B-DUS
interface needs a some changes in code. The output system is now more
flexible and the initial support for unittests helps with a found and
fix of the bug in a Database class, which comes from the old prototype
code.

 There's also (a Czech) blogpost about scout published in
http://www.abclinuxu.cz/blog/miblog/2008/6/scout-aneb-prohledavame-distribuce

with more than 450 hits. And mvyskocil also prepared a demonstration
usage of scout. When the Java application ends with
NoClassDefFoundError/ClassNotFoundException, the wrapper script detects
the name of the class, use a scout to find the name of required
package, call zypper to install them and tries to re-run the

 (5) Python 2.6 and 3.0

Jmatejek have put new Python version 2.6 and its successor Python
version 3.0 into BETA and STABLE will follow. Detailed announce was sent

- puppet: create a package that at least pretends SPC compliance, it can
be tested in home:anicka:puppet for now
- cfs: package and test - it does not seem to work without gamin
- perl modules: update a lot of them
- rrdtool, mrtg, apache2-mod_perl, cfengine, sleuth - update to current
versions
- take a look at AJ's hackweek project (statistics for OBS)

anosek
- investigated and fixed mysql-query-browser #385394
- fixed building of openvas packages in BS
- lots of small fixes to get openvas into abuild

jmatejek
- putting python 2.6 and python3 into BETA and BuildService

lmichnovic
- Doing some translations of openSUSE to Slovak.
- Update of Opera to version 9.51 RC1 in Build Service in my home:lmich
repo.
- Myspell-dictionaries: Added Novell jargon [bnc#306333]. Fixed the
 nonsense content of zu_ZA dictionary file. Mailing to upstream.
- fvwm2: Update to version 2.5.26 into Factory.

mmarek
- tried to reproduce mdadm bug 379745, no success (filed bnc#403142
 about ssh installation at least)
- mentoring the eclipse-bs SoC project, student got svn access
- playing with bazaar (for mysql)
- released osc-ftp 0.4
- learning the buildservice "collaboration" feature, submitted new re2c
 while at it
- playing with lzma-compressed man pages, not really fascinating
- creating a wiki page with YMPs for easier installation of buildservice
 LAMP packages, reported random bugs (bnc#404446, bnc#404456,
 bnc#404439)
- wrote a tiny patch to speed up bash completion for rpm -q (bnc#402659)

mvyskocil
- some improvements in Scout, that includes a basic support for
unittesting, demo how should be scout used for automatic Java class
install.
- heavy work in the Bugzilla:
- closed  bnc#401094, and bnc#3978{28,30,37,42,54}, bnc#396962,
bnc#400396, bnc#396250, ...

pgajdos
- octave updated to 3.0.1
- optipng updated to 0.6
- libpng updated to 1.2.29
- perl-HTML-Encoding updated to 0.57
- gbdfed updated to 1.4

prusnak
- investigating integration of SLIM into openSUSE
- fixing xfce packages in OBS
- gtk2-engine-murrine: submitted to autobuild
- first experiments with fuse-osc

- parted: prepared fix for (bnc#397210)

- fbi: update to 2.07

sbrabec
- nspluginwrapper: Preparing and testing online update for bnc#350752,
- bnc#353503, bnc#400194, bnc#384367, bnc#304963.
- Reviewing packages in GNOME:STABLE to fix bnc#402433.
- Reproducing and debugging bnc#91189 bnc#133718, reporting bnc#403214.
- inkscape: Working on smart splitting of the package.
- libexif: Research on GPS data corruption.
-Review of GSoC code wrote by the student.
