I've got open-vm-tools.On 31.05.2008 at 15:36, Vahis <waxborg@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:

I have also tried to install vmware-kmp.
Resizing does not work other than manually "fit guest now"
Then I lose the panel. It gets back by choosing default theme. After
that you can come back to "Aya" which actually is default.
Resizing not to work is actually an issue of KDE4. Even if you use the nVidia
set resolution application for example, the desktop is not resized. It's simply
skipping the messages.
What are these two different packages about? Should they both be
installed or just one? Which one?
the KMP is the driver modules, and open-vm-tools is the user tools, like
vmware-user (the one taking care of resizing for example) and host mounter. The
KMP depends on the open-vm-tools, and the vm-tools are rather useless without
the kmps too (the kmp should be installed automagically by yast when you're in
a VM guest)
