No way!!

Sorry for the infinite replies... :-(

It still freezs and I don't how to fix it.

I'm almost sure it's related with the kernel, in fact the ati driver
works well with kernels prior to 2.6.25, patching the kernel as
raccomended by somes it doesn't help as well.

Now, while I'm replying with a ¢|¬§°#@°§¬°§|6 windows :-( , I'm
updating again the whole system.

If anybody has an idea on how to fix this problem it would be great!!!

Thanks
Antenore

Yes, it works, but It in my installation it freezes randomly.

I'm investigating why, I'll post here if I'll find something
interesting for the community

It seems that starting the kernel with acpi=off it works. I'm
installing the new kernel too see if it helps

I've resolved installing the kernel 2.6.25.4-7-default and doing the
following:

cd /usr/src/linux
make mrproper
make cloneconfig
make modules_prepare
make clean

/usr/share/ati/fglrx-uninstall.sh
sax2 -a
sh /var/tmp/ati-driver-installer-8-5-x86.x86_64.run
ldconfig
aticonfig --initial --input=/etc/X11/xorg.conf
init 3
sax2 -r -m 0=fglrx
modprobe fglrx

Now it works well

I hope this can help others.
