I tried that command, it does nothing :-(
bzip2 -cd LiveUSB-GNOME-20080518-i686.raw.bz2 | dd=of=/dev/sda1 bs=4096 (tried also with /dev/sda)
No error.
(the device is unmounted)
Any tip?

I tried making a LiveUSB from LiveCD of Beta3 following this tutorial http://klik.atekon.de/wiki/index.php/CustomizeSUSELive which I only had to make a new initrd with support for usb-storage, vfat modules. I think that including a initrd with USB support and a boot option (explicity saying that will only works with a USB) should be fine(in LiveCD), as the user will only have to extract the iso and make the USB bootable.... Of course, if its possible...
