Hi,
JP just complained that it takes so long to download the live CD,
so I guess it's not really well known that you can build your own
live CD to test:
Install kiwi-config-openSUSE-gnome or kiwi-config-openSUSE-kde
and call kiwi on /usr/share/openSUSE/kiwi-config-*/config.xml
kiwi --root /tmp/myroot --prepare $CONFIG_FROM_ABOVE
kiwi --create /tmp/myroot -d /tmp/isooutputdir
You need some packages installed and you need to have a repo
of the packages needed around (which you can sync with drpmsync).
This repo you need to give with --add-repo to both calls.
Happy playing around - and if someone creates a wiki page from
his experiments, I would be glad.
I created a page a while ago for this but I guess it needs to be updated
(and moved to a more general area in the wiki). If someone wants to do
it, feel free.
http://en.opensuse.org/GNOME/Projects/LiveCD
trying the svn checkout, but just in case :)
Whops! :-)
