Thanks for this, but I discovered the answer (suse/) late last night 
after looking at the details of the URLs stated in the Repositories 
list; but instead of posting my result here I went on to upgrade the 
packages- bad move as it took over 1 1/2 hours and I ended up going to 
bed close to 0200 hours :-D .
