How do I get an Atheros 5212/5213 Wlan Chip worked under 11.0 b1? The Kernel implemented ath5k seems not to work. And Building the madwifi module with the source Package worked but the next reboot faild. (description in my former mail: Re: [opensuse-factory] Missing kernel-syms and wron Kernel headers in dvd 11.0b1)
I'm using the similar network device on OpenSUSE 11 Beta 1 and the device worked very nice with WPA-PSK. # lspci 03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR5212/AR5213 Multiprotocol MAC/baseband processor (rev 01) ath5k driver did not work but I get the device up and work with madwifi driver madwifi-0.9.4.tar.gz. In the beginning, I'm playing with wifi0_rename problem but after modprobe -r ath5k and then modprobe ath_pci, the device worked without problem. Note : I'm using OpenSUSE 11 Beta 1 from DVD -- Best Regards, Masim "Vavai" Sugianto /************************************************************/ Blog (ID) : http://www.vavai.com/blog/index.php Blog (EN) : http://www.vavai.net Community : http://www.opensuse.or.id Email : vavai@vavai.com /************************************************************/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
