Thanks for this. I re-installed the beta and eventually found the 
repositories under Software Management by selecting the "Community" 
button. (Damn if I know how a newbie is supposed to find any of this!)

Some 847 files got upgraded earlier today as a result of this - over 2 
hours worth of downloads.
