But have you read my msg, "Updating Beta 1", I posted earlier?
What ARE the repos I have to enable to get Beta 1 upgraded/updated?

I am not answering your specific question but I do sympathise with you with the general thrust of your concern.
I find it difficult to come to grips with the notion of having to report 'bugs' while trying out something like Beta 1 (or whatever) because one doesn't know if it IS a bug, and if others are experiencing it as well, or something which is only related to your installation (because you didn't do something correctly, eg).
It takes more time to find out if it is a 'bug' by trawling thru the bug reports than by simply asking a question here, in this mail list, but then, doing so, one is always aware that the first requirement of anyone before asking a question here is to make sure that it hasn't already been reported as a 'bug'.
And then one also is intimidated by what you are stating has occurred to you (above). I have read what was said in the 'bug report' and find that it is totally mind-boggling to find it being implied that a Beta is a completely different animal to a Factory 'snapshot'! (And, to reinforce the point, one cannot talk about a Beta in the openSUSE mail list because any discussion about a Beta belongs in the factory mail list!)
Ciao
I see you've installed beta1. Try selecting some packages in yast and then clicking the close window X on the title bar. You then have a box asking abandon or cancel. Click cancel, which should cancel the closing of yast. The command to find the pid of the program you have to close to get yast or zypper to work again is ps -AF|grep y2base just to save you the trouble of finding it yourself. You need to update beta1 you have to enable the factory repo anyway and thats where the problem comes from.
