Another improvemennt would be separating the download and the install on 
diferent threads or whatever, so that the next rpm is been downloaded 
while another is beeng installed.

Higher compression also means longer time decompressing, thus longer time 
not downloading and perhaps longer overall time. Mmmm! That would be 
curious to measure!
