Hi,
Since Hackweek I'm waiting for a build to make
Alpha2+ out of it, but unfortunately there were
several reasons why this did not work out yet.
Right now factory will start yast in gdb for some
weired "bash reason" and will crash while creating
users. Both issues were FIXED today, so possibly
I have something tomorrow.
I do not plan to publish this release though as it
will just be a snapshot, but we'll use it internally
to test and improve installation.
The overall status of Factory is pretty good these days,
the "new zypp" project went pretty smooth, even though
there were some glitches - that we expected, we just
didn't know how they would look exactly :)
We have 22 build failures at the moment for i386 (44 for
ppc, there seems to be a generic problem on that arch).
This is excellent progress from the ~70 we saw ever since
we started with releasing alphas. So hopefully beta1 will
see a 0.
Ah! in case you wonder why there hasn't been an update to
the factory live cds after my initial announcement: there
was always another problem with them. Right now kiwi seems
to create a broken initrd, so you can't boot them ;(
Greetings, Stephan
