Hi,
Is there any chance that rsyslog ( http://www.rsyslog.com/ ) can become
the default syslogd for the upcoming opensuse 11 release?
Rsyslog is an enhanced multi-threaded syslogd supporting, among others,
MySQL, syslog/tcp, RFC 3195, permitted sender lists, filtering on any
message part, and fine grain output format control.
...
Fedora is using it as their default syslogd since Fedora 8
(
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/8/ReleaseSummary#head-1c5f11068fc8fd08c8a20c56d145fae2955ba74c
)
Darix already has packages in his home directory on the OBS.
( http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/darix/openSUSE_Factory/ )
Kind regards,
Leo
