i install the fglrx from the ati repository, i install the kernel
modulo and the driver, this is the unique form to install in my ati
x200. i hope in opensuse 11 can run perfect normaly my ati.

Same boat here. Loaded on 10.3 the fireglx drivers as per the wiki
instructions... I am loading the driver from the ATI repository...
Anyways, when I use SaX2 to configure X to use the fireglx driver it
hangs and the screen is totally black. I need to restart X with
ctrl+alt+bkspc at which point it just reverts back to using the
generic "radeon" driver.

Also the intel drivers are kind of broken. I don't understand why we
can't detect the system has an older card and use i810 driver for
that. SuSE really has gone downhill recently. Nothing is integrated. I
load pidgin from the repository and when I try to follow an http-link
in an IM it says that mozilla is not a valid app? Firefox printing is
very poorly integrated. The list can go on. What ever happened to the
quality control? Releases feel like betas. Betas feel like
alphareleases. If you have packages from Packman installed it creates
a severe dependency problem when upgrading which can be corrected by
forcing any dependancies during the upgrade to switch vendors back to
SuSE but no such option is present in the installer... I don't know
why that's not implemented. Even in 10.3 there are some oddities with
the installer maybe in some isolated cases but its not non-standard.
Try to add the OSS, non-OSS internet repos during an install and then
let the system upgrade the kernal during install... totally broke the
system. The kernel running for some reason was the packaged kernel yet
all the headers and drivers on the hard disc were the ones of the
updated kernel (or the other way around... basically the running
kernel version did not match the version of the only folder under
/lib/modules/2.6.....

Greetings, I would like to report that 10.3 suse not have a very good
support for the ati driver, but other distributions if, as ubuntu,
then, I would let them know, so that in 11, we can easily run the
fglrx driver of ati, that the compiz-fusion at 10.3 stays frozen, but
if evidence other distributions nothing to do
