Hi,

Can we upgrade opensuse10.3GM to opensuse-11.0Alpha2?
I have faced some problem doing so on power5.

This is pretty much untested right now, but you're free
to try and report bugs.

Well, it was not that hard ;-) After fixing inst-sys (since otherwise it is
not possible to use the update proposal and if there was a dependency
conflict, it was not possible to continue - known already fixed bug) the
upgrade went smoothly. The fun came afterwards
- all users from /etc/passwd were lost
- some packages (eg. pam_mount) were missing (had to take them from factory
and then had really fun with my encrypted home)
- networkmanager doesn't work for me (dhcpcd is my friend :-) )
- /etc/init.d/kbd manages to freeze boot (I removed it from init scripts)

anyway, as you see, I can work again :-)

Jiri
