Now in the interest of not wasting anybody's time, including my own, I
would like to suggest that all testers, including volunteers, be given
access to Novell's Bugzilla tutorials.

Which bugzilla tutorials are you speaking about?

<https://bugzilla.novell.com/index.cgi> contains the following reference:-

Notes to Employees (important)

* Please follow these instructions to gain access to Novell's Bugzilla.
* If you would like some training on Bugzilla, please visit the Novell
Bugzilla training site. <=========================================<<<

Ah, that one - just checked: that training site does not contain
anything that is not available elsewhere.

This site is password protected.

Yes, as it's in a section "for Employees".

I'll look into this.

The canonical place for openSUSE bugs is the openSUSE wiki:
http://en.opensuse.org/Submit_a_Bug

Which if I am not mistaken says precisely nothing about search criteria.

It's a wiki - feel free to add something ;-)
