You do not have to do the copy/paste/extract just run

Ati's can be found in /usr/X11R6/lib(/usr/lib/xorg if installed
manually) and mesa's in /usr/lib

Just copy the Mesa version of libGL.so.1.2 into the folder where you
installed google earth, and rename it to libGL.so.1
To get the Mesa libGLso1.2, copy the Mesa rpm into an empty folder and run:
rpm2cpio Mesa<version>.rpm | cpio -idmv
It will be in the extracted usr/lib folder.
You do not have to do the copy/paste/extract just run
LD_PRELOAD=/path/to/libGL.so googleearth
Ati's can be found in /usr/X11R6/lib(/usr/lib/xorg if installed
manually) and mesa's in /usr/lib
