I've seen an odd symptom with Gaim (Pidgin's predecessor, if I
understand correctly) on my 10.0 installation. After I reboot (or
possibly after I log in, but the two are virtually always one-to-one
for me) sound works thoughout my system except for Gaim. If I open the
KDE Control Center, go to the "Sound System" panel under the "Sound &
Multimedia" section and click the "Test Sound" button then thereafter
Gaim sounds work.
I haven't bothered to try to track it down, since it's not something
that I have to deal with very often and it seems pretty obscure.
