There are many ways to create files in Gnome.  This one method is currently
broken.

Yes, there are many applications by which one is able to create files despite this bug. But isn't Nautilus supposed to server as THE file manager in Gnome. Or are there other file managers in Gnome I could use for creating files? Or is "touch" a Gnome application since one may use it in the Gnome terminal?
