Opened a bug some time ago.If the bug is open, I don't think behavior has changed. What is the bug
number?
And this bug is marked as fixed. I suggest to try next Alpha (Alpha7).
OK.
That's correct, the window for YaST --> Installation Sources.Selecting some packages from Factory willYou must be talking about yast2, zypper does not have any window ;-)
cause zypper to not return, stays permanently "working on" and window
goes grey.
I have it happen often with 2 x86_64 boxes and even on a new install ofKill -9 the pids of yast2 sw_single, removingKill -9 sounds very strange indeed.
/var/run/zypp.pid and at times needing to bomb out the window is the
only way to return it to sanity, then YaST --> Installation Source can
be restarted.
It's not capable of resolving certain dependencies. Can you still reproduce the problem? That could be a problem with Factory
at that time.

10.3Alpha6 x86. Occasionally I will see a box pop up with unresolved
dependencies, but not often, it just goes away. If I do an update of the
dependencies in the correct order, the package will upgrade. On some, it
will automatically add the dependencies to the list.
As an example, a few days ago it hung on OpenOffice.org, next time
around I picked other packages OpenOffice_org-base and a few others,
then it upgraded. The last one I encountered was with bind-utils yesterday.

Sid.
This sounds like a different problem, not the one with solver run taking long time.
