What is your take on this, do you prefer testers to raise matters here first or are you happy to just weed out the dud bug reports?
Well, think about it: If you fear that you could annoy the two or three people that read the bugzilla report by a false report, does it then make sense to send the same thing to a list with hundreds or thousands of subscribers to annoy all of them instead? Actually posting something you think is most likely a bug to a mailing list first to get "permission" to enter it into bugzilla is almost everytime a waste of time of hundreds or thousands of people (including yourself's time). Asking something like this on the list makes only sense if it is something that cannot be considered right or wrong but is more a matter of taste. In _that_ case it might make sense to start a public discussion on what other people would prefer. And by the way: Most likely nobody would kill you for some false bug reports --- unless you do all of them on the mailing list. ;-) Robert -- Robert Schiele Dipl.-Wirtsch.informatiker mailto:rschiele@gmail.com "Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum sonatur."
