If really no other yast component is running: Not good :-( I suggest to
do an update to Alpha3 with booting from the media to have the system in
a defined state. There were some problems in the Alpha2+ time frame
that should be fixed.
If it occurs again, please open a bugreport and attach the zypper log
files,
